Latam Lounge Bogota Review

The LATAM Lounge Bogota is pretty good, although it has a weird layout.

It has a decent-sized hot buffet, nice fresh fruit selection, runway views, premium alcohol and tea/coffee selection.

The lounge is a little small and has a weird shape. It was busy when I was there, but we managed to find a seat.

The LATAM Lounge Bogota sits in Terminal 1, right in the international side of El Dorado, opposite gate A1 and a level up from the main terminal floor. It's tucked next door to the Avianca Lounge, so if you fancy comparing the two on your way through, they're only a few steps apart. Frankly, the location is one of the better bits — easy to find, easy to duck into before a long-haul flight.

Officially it's a 60,000 square foot space with room for around 200 people, but don't go in expecting that on arrival. It feels a lot more cramped than the numbers suggest, built more like a balcony hanging over the terminal than a proper sprawling lounge. Worth knowing before you plan your visit around it.

On the food side, I'm vegetarian, so most of the hot dishes — heavy on the local Colombian meat options — weren't for me. What did land well was the fresh fruit: cut mango and grenadillia, which happen to be my kids' favourite and are grown right there in Colombia. Drinks-wise, the self-service spirits shelf included Grey Goose, a premium vodka that normally runs around $50 a bottle — not bad for a help-yourself pour.

If you're the type who wants lounge access sorted before every trip rather than hoping for a day pass, my Recommended Resources page has a discount on Priority Pass membership, alongside the rest of the deals I actually use for getting around and staying comfortable on the road.

What I Liked

  • Decent hot food
  • Nice fresh fruit
  • Premium alcohol
  • Runway views

What Could Be Improved

  • Small lounge
  • Busy

The Entry Requirements

You can access the LATAM Lounge Bogota via on of the following methods:

  • Premium Cabin: Flying Premium Business on international LATAM flights
  • LATAM Pass Elite: Members with Black Signature, Black, or Platinum status (includes 1 guest)
  • Partner Airline Elite: Premium cabin flyers on select partner airlines like Delta, Iberia, and Aeromexico

The Lounge Access with Priority Pass

A Priority Pass card won't get you into this specific lounge — it's not part of that programme.

It's still worth having sorted for the rest of your trip though. Signup here and get a 30% discount.

There are four separate Priority Pass Lounges in Bogota airport. And over 1,900 worldwide.

The Location

The LATAM Lounge Bogota is located in Bogotá's El Dorado Airport, Terminal 1 — the international terminal.

The lounge is opposite gate A1. One level above the main terminal area. Right next to the Avianca Lounge.

I didn't log the exact route from security to the lounge door on this visit, so I won't guess at turns or a walking time here — better to leave that gap than invent one.

The Avianca Lounge next door is the only other option I can confirm at this end of the terminal. So if LATAM's is full or not quite your thing, that's worth a look on the way past.

The Best Activities in Bogota

Plaza de Bolívar and La Candelaria

Plaza de Bolívar is the beating heart of Bogota, and it's completely free to just turn up and wander. Surrounded by the Cathedral, the Capitolio and Palacio de Justicia, it's the spot everyone ends up at eventually. Spill out from the square into La Candelaria, the old colonial quarter, and you'll get colourful streets, steep cobbled hills and street art without spending a peso.

Monserrate Tour in Bogotá Including Tickets

You can book your ticket here for $25. It's rated 4.89* from 137 reviews. Monserrate sits high above the city, and the tour gets you up there with tickets sorted rather than queuing it out yourself. The views over Bogota from the top are the whole point, and they deliver.

Bogotá Bike Tour

Book your spot here for $25. Rated 4.84* from a huge 3,489 reviews, so it's clearly doing something right. It's a good way to cover more of the city than you'd manage on foot, with a guide steering you past the sights. Just know Bogota traffic isn't for the faint-hearted, so it's not the most relaxing way to spend a morning.

Bogota Zipaquira Salt Cathedral Private Tour + Lunch

For something a bit more of an occasion, book here for $57. It's rated 4.96* from 626 reviews, which is a properly strong score for that many people. This one's private, includes lunch, and takes you out to the underground Salt Cathedral — a genuinely unusual sight and worth the extra spend if you want a full day out rather than a quick city tour.

The Lounge

The LATAM Lounge Bogota is billed as a spacious lounge with room for a few hundred people, though I'd take the official figures with a pinch of salt.

Those official figures overestimate the size of the lounge. It feels a lot smaller. The lounge is built like a balcony overhead the terminal.

There are wide walkways, but not a lot of space used for seating.

The lounge has runway views, a hot buffet, premium alcohol and tea/coffee.

I was there in mid-afternoon, and the lounge was pretty busy during my visit.

Opening hours weren't something I logged on this visit. Worth checking before you fly if timing matters for your layover.

The Food

There is a hot buffet in one of the rooms. You could choose from:

  • Bread sticks
  • Salad
  • Fresh fruit selection
  • Four to five hot dishes
  • Cheese
  • Cold cuts
  • Tiramisu
  • Chocolate cake

The dishes at the LATAM Lounge Bogota were local Colombian, so I'm not an expert on what they were. They were mostly meat dishes, which is no good for me as I'm vegetarian. That being said, the dishes looked to be well made.

The fresh fruit selection included cut mango and grenadillia. Grenadillia are my kids' favourite and are grown in Colombia. We all enjoyed them.

I just had some fruit, olives, broccoli and breadsticks. It was pretty nice.

The Drinks

I liked the drinks selection in the LATAM Lounge Bogota.

Two machines served tea and coffee. I had an Americano from one of the machines. It was nice.

There was also a fresh orange juice machine and soft drinks from the fridge.

The alcohol selection was all self-service. Including beers, wines, sparkling wines and premium spirits. The spirits include Grey Goose vodka. A premium vodka that costs around $50 for a bottle.

My Take

The LATAM Lounge Bogota is a mixed bag, and I'd rather tell you that straight than oversell it. The location is genuinely good — easy to find opposite gate A1, right next to the Avianca Lounge if you want to compare. The fresh fruit selection, especially the grenadillia, went down well with the whole family. The self-service Grey Goose on the spirits shelf was a nice touch too.

But it does feel smaller than its official capacity suggests, built more like a balcony over the terminal than a proper lounge, and it was busy when I was there. As a vegetarian, most of the hot buffet — heavy on local Colombian meat dishes — wasn't really for me either. What I ate leaned more towards fruit, olives and breadsticks than the main spread.

If you're after runway views, a decent drinks selection and an easy-to-find spot before an international flight out of Terminal 1, it delivers. If you want a spacious lounge with plenty of seating or a big vegetarian spread, it's more hit-and-miss.
