London Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio - My Guide

London Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio is one of the UK’s most popular attractions. With over 2 million visitors annually. It’s where all 8 Harry Potter movies were filmed. It’s a must-visit for fans. Google Reviews are rated 4.8/5 based on 94,000+ reviews.

In this guide, I’ll explain what to expect when you visit the Studio. I’ll also explain how to book the tour at a £40 discount, including transport from Central London.

The Studio is more than just a tour. You get to become part of the Harry Potter World. Explore the Great Hall, Daigon Valley and Platform 9 ¾. There’s also some amazing interactive experiences. Try Butterbeer at the Backlot Café. You can use the same green screen technology as used in the films. Fly a broomstick over London and sit in a Hogwarts Express carriage.

While the studios are in London, the location isn’t convenient. The London Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio are a full 20 miles from Central London.

Without a car, it’s not easy to get to the Studio. Public Transport options are limited. You need a combination of train and bus from Central London.

You can book Studio tickets, including dedicated transport from Central London, from the Warner Bros Website. They charge £114 per person. You’ll travel inside a luxury bus from London Victoria, with no stops along the way.

This guide won’t talk about the Harry Potter Filming Locations in Central London. I wrote a separate article on that here. That guides include Platform 9 ¾ at Kings Cross Station, the Millennium Bridge and St Pauls Cathedral. Which were all filming locations for the movies. I went on an organised tour for £22, but you can visit those locations by yourself.

If you’re a massive Harry Potter fan, you’ll want to visit the Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio Tour and the filming locations in Central London. But make sure to visit on separate days. You can’t do it all on one day.

This guide will cover the West End Play. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. That play is entirely separate to the Warner Bros Studio. But it’s a must visit. You can book a ticket here, starting at £30. You can watch the same play on Broadway too, but tickets cost much more. Starting at $75 for the cheapest seat.

Harry Potter Warner Bros - Book Your Tickets

You can book a Studio Tour only from the Warner Bros Website for £58.50. This doesn’t include transport, so you’ll need to make your own way to Watford in North London.

If you don’t have a car, then you’ll want to book the combo ticket. With transport from Central London included. You’ll get picked up from Victoria Coach Station, and then get taken in a luxury bus, straight to the studios. The bus is branded, Air Conditioned and won’t stop anywhere on the way.

£83 is a decent price. You’re paying £24.50 for return transport from Central London. With a direct journey on a luxury bus.



The total time for the tour is around 7 hours. 1.5 hours to travel each way. And 4 hours at the London Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio. 

Must See Attractions


At the London Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio, you can see the iconic sets used in the eight films. Many of these are the actual sets used in filming, and not a replica.

The Great Hall


The Great Hall was the setting of so many memorable scenes from the Harry Potter Films. Including the Sorting Ceremony, Yule Ball, Triwizard Champion Selection and Battle of Hogwarts aftermath.

The hall is 120 feet by 40 feet and can seat 400 students.




Daigon Alley

Daigon Alley is one of the most magical sets. It’s the wizarding shopping street where Hogwarts students buy their school supplies. You can wander inside the actual shops used in the films.

Ollivanders Wand Shop features 17,000 hand-labelled wand boxes. Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes has a Bright orange storefront and is packed with magical jokes.


Platform 9 ¾ and the Hogwarts Express


The Hogwarts Express leaves from Platform 9 ¾ at Kings Cross Station. Indeed, the real Kings Cross Station now contains a Platform 9 ¾, where Harry Potter Fans can get a photo done. I talk about that in this article.

The Warner Bros Studio Tour contains a full scale re-creation of Platform 9 ¾. You can take a photo with the luggage disappearing into the wall.

The original train used in the film as the Hogwarts Express is there too. You can board the train yourself and wander the carriages.


Gringotts Wizarding Bank

Gringotts is the bank run by goblins, where witches and wizards store their gold and treasures. The Studio have a re-creation of the bank. Complete with props and effects.
The Forbidden Forest

The Forbidden Forest is a dark, enchanted woodland on the edge of the Hogwarts grounds. At the Studio Tour, you can walk through a life-sized recreation of the forest.
Dumbledore’s Office

You can walk inside Dumbledore’s Office at Warner Bros Studios. The setting of so many pivotal scenes from the films. Such as when, Harry visits Dumbledore after the basilisk attacks. In Chamber of Secrets.
Hogwarts Castle Model

The Hogwarts Castle Model is a spectacular part of the tour at Warner Bros Studios. A 1:24 scale model of Hogwarts School.

It was built by 86 crew members and artists. The model is the grand finale of the tour. You can walk round it from multiple angles and get your perfect shot.

Interactive Experiences

At the London Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio Tour, you won’t just see. You’ll also do! You’ll get to experience life in the Harry Potter Universe.

Butterbeer at the Backlot Café

Half way through the tour, you can stop off at Backlot Café for a Butterbeer. After Platform 9¾.

The fantastic sweet, frothy drink with butterscotch flavour. You can also get Butterbeer ice cream and themed cakes.

There’s no way you’re coming here and not getting yourself a Butterbeer!
Fly the Green Screen

You can use the same green screen special effects as they use in the film. Fly a broomstick over London, just like Harry Potter did. In his 1st flying lesson. They’ll obviously charge you extra to take the souvenir film home!
Professor Sprout’s Greenhouse

At Professor Sprout’s Greenhouse, you can pull up a Mandrake for a photo and a video.


Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – The Play

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a two part stage play that shows in London and Broadway. Tickets for the play are entirely separate to the London Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio.

The play doesn’t show at the studio. You need to buy your tickets separately.

It's an original story by J.K. Rowling. But presented as a stage play, rather than a novel. It takes place nineteen years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

The show has won numerous accolades. The original West End production won nine Laurence Olivier Awards, including Best New Play. The Broadway production earned six Tony Awards, including Best Play. It’s been staged globally and sold over 6 million tickets worldwide.
