This review is for Marriott Son Antem. Which is located on the Spanish island of Mallorca.
The resort is part of Marriott Vacation Club. This means that rather than hotel rooms, the resort has townhouses for guests to stay in. With full kitchens and all the amenities of home. There’s also a 24 hour marketplace on site, selling food and other essentials.
Mallorca is an island off the coast of Spain, with stunning beaches. Just note that this resort isn’t on the beach. It’s a 10 minute drive from the beach. This resort is very popular as it has two golf courses.
It also has multiple swimming pools, including an indoor one. There’s other activities, including a five-a-side football pitch, tennis and padel.
I stayed for 3 days with my family. There were 5 of us in a two bedroom townhouse. We had a lovely time and felt very comfortable. I’m also a Marriott Platinum, so I got extra benefits.
Staying at Marriott Son Antem in Mallorca, Spain means you get actual townhouses, not hotel rooms. Mine was a two-storey house with 947 square feet: separate sitting room, garden with barbecue, and a master bedroom with whirlpool bath. It slept six comfortably (two per bed, plus a sofa bed for the third) and cost €693 for three nights. That's serious value.
The standout was the main pool — heated and part indoors, part outdoors, so you can swim outside even in winter. There's a spa with sauna and jacuzzis, a 24-hour gym, Marriott Son Antem restaurants, and facilities spread across the golf courses. Depending on which townhouse, facilities are a short walk away.
The decor is basic. Padel courts cost €24 an hour. You need a car, though parking's free and local rentals beat the airport chains significantly.

I stayed at Marriott Son Antem in Mallorca for three nights. The cost for a 2 bed townhouse was €693.
The townhouse can comfortably hold 6 people. Two people in each bedroom. There’s also a sofa bed in the sitting room.
I thought this was very good value. We had five people staying in our townhouse.
Marriott Son Antem offers decent value if you're travelling as a group.
The nightly rate runs around €231 for a two-bed townhouse. On paper, that sounds expensive. Split six ways, it's modest.
With five people staying, we saved significantly versus booking two traditional rooms. Add in the option to cook your own meals, and the maths work in your favour.
Solo travellers might not see the same value. But for families, Marriott Son Antem delivers real value.
Marriott Son Antem is located on Mallorca, Spain. Mallorca is one of the three Balearic islands. The other two are Ibiza and Menorca.
Ibiza is world famous for it’s party scene. Menorca is a much less developed island. Mallorca has cultivated a reputation as a high-end location with great beaches.
Marriott Son Antem is not on the beach. It’s located in-land. About 15km from the airport. The journey takes around 15 minutes by car. It’s a 10 minute drive if you want to get to the beach.
There’s nothing much close by the resort. Just the two golf courses.
To get to the resort, you’ll need a car. Either a rental car or a taxi. Just be warned that taxis are expensive in Mallorca. I was advised that the cost of a taxi to the airport is €50. Which is a lot of a 15km journey.
Hire a Car in Palma
For Marriott Son Antem, hiring a car from Palma de Mallorca is straightforward. Collect from Palma airport or the city centre. Prices start from around €60 per day.
I use Local Rent to compare prices. They aggregate local rental companies alongside the big international names. Better value than booking direct.
Pros: freedom to explore Mallorca at your own pace, reach Son Antem easily (15km from airport). Cons: driving unfamiliar roads can be stressful. Use Google Maps. Budget extra time.
Palma Cathedral (La Seu)
Palma's cathedral dominates the waterfront and is one of Europe's finest examples of Gothic architecture. The exterior is free to explore and the surrounding old town is perfect for wandering. The afternoon light through the stained-glass windows is worth timing your visit for.

The resort is a large, sprawling resort. The resort offers the following facilities:
There’s a lot on offer at the resort. Because the resort is on a golf course, it’s large. So the facilities aren’t right next to each other.
The main building has the gym, spa, restaurant, convenience store, main pool and activity centre. The main pool is really cool, as the pool is a heated indoor-outdoor pool.
At the back of the main building is the football pitch, table tennis and giant chess.
The tennis and padel centre is a 5 minute walk along the road. The basketball court is a 10 minute walk along the road.
Similarly, the townhouses are not all right next to the main building. You might need to walk 5, 10 or 15 minutes to your accomodation.
Because the resort is sprawling and quite low, I wasn’t able to get a great Instagrammable photo of the resort. Ultimately, that’s not too important, as there’s loads of fun things to do! My review of Marriott Crystal Shores in Marco Island Florida has a cover photo worthy of Instagram!
Marriott Son Antem is a Marriott Vacation Club resort on Mallorca, Spain, about 15 kilometres from the airport and a 10-minute drive from the beach. The property features townhouses with full kitchens and amenities, each sleeping up to six guests, spread across two golf courses.
I’m a Marriott Platinum and got treated pretty well. My welcome package included two wine bottles—one red, one white—in the room. I also got a 10% discount card and 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points.
I didn’t get an upgrade, as upgrades are not provided at Marriott Vacation Club Properties.
I’ve stayed at a number of Marriott Vacation Club Resorts. They all have apartments rather than hotel rooms. My family love staying in an apartment. With a kitchen to make the food we like, and a washing machine to provide fresh clothes.
However, I had never stayed in a townhouse before. At Marriott Son Antem on Mallorca, I finally got the chance. I was looking forward to it. It was a cool experience to have an actual garden. I stayed in house 618, a two-bed townhouse. About a two-minute walk from the main building.
The townhouse was a proper house, and you could live here full time if you wanted to. There was a private parking space at the front of the property and a garden at the back.

The townhouse was nice, although it was on the small side. It was 947 square foot. It had a capacity of 6 people. Two people in each bedroom, and two people in the sofabed in the lounge.
I was staying in a party of 5, with two kids. So we were able to squeeze into two bedrooms.
The furniture was nice, although basic and functional. The design of the room was very similar to the Marriot Vacation Club resort I stayed at in Marbella. Review here.
The kitchen was really good, fully stocked with everything you needed. It had a full set of kitchen utensils, pots, pans, plates and glassware. There was also a Krups coffee machine. Next to the kitchen was a small wash room, with dishwasher and dryer.
The living room was downstairs. It had a large wall mounted TV, sofa bed and dining table.
The living room led directly to the back yard. Which had a covered patio with a table and chairs to eat on. Behind the patio was a small grassy area and a barbeque.
The main bedroom is upstairs. It was pretty nice. With a large double bed, a wardrobe and a small TV. There was an en-suite bathroom, which had a large bathtub with whirlpool.
The other bedroom had two single beds, a wardrobe and a TV.
The main swimming pool at Marriott Son Antem is in the main building. It was a large heated swimming pool that was part indoors and part outdoors. This was pretty cool, and I had never seen this before.
The pool was heated to a nice temperature. Not as hot as a hot tub, but not far away. So swimming outside was genuinely pleasant, even on chilly winter evenings.
There were also jacuzzis in the main pool area. Two jacuzzis were hot and one was cold.
There was also a steam room connected to the main pool area.
The spa was also in the main building. It had two saunas, a steam room and a Turkish hammam.
The Marriott Son Antem spa is no-frills — sauna, jacuzzis, nothing fancy. It's there if you want to unwind after golf or a walk, but it's not the main draw. Which is fine. That's not what you're coming for.
Throughout the Marriott Son Antem resort there are about 15 small seasonal pools next to the townhouses. There was a small pool next to my townhouse. It was pretty small and was closed in winter.
The resort had five padel courts and two tennis courts. I play both tennis and padel, so I was excited for this. I ended up being quite disappointed however.
The resort charges €24 per hour to play padel. They also charge for equipment hire. So it would have cost €54 for four of us to play for one hour! They make the courts available for the general public to book.
The tennis court is free for the first hour of each day. But they also charge to rent equipment.
The tennis and padel courts aren’t really a benefit of the resort. It just happens that there are courts on the property, that need to be paid for. This was the first time I’d seen this, and I was not impressed.
There was a small basketball court, about a ten-minute walk from the main building. I used it once to play with my daughter.
There were two beach volleyball courts next to the tennis and padel courts. I didn’t use it.
There was an activity centre in the main building. You could come here to do arts and crafts. There were also board games and computer games here.
The kids club was here too.
There was a 24-hour gym in the main building. It was a decent sized gym with a wide array of equipment.
For cardio, there were exercise bikes and treadmills. There were some weights machines. There were also dumbbells, cable machines and gym balls. The gym here is solid for a decent workout.
The resort has an on-site restaurant located in the main building. You also have a fully stocked kitchen in your townhouse and a 24-hour marketplace on-site, so you're not limited to dining at the restaurant if you prefer to prepare meals yourself.
Having restaurants on-site at Marriott Son Antem means you're not forced off-resort to eat. With a family, that flexibility matters. You can grab breakfast, have a casual lunch, or relax over dinner without piling everyone in a car.
Marriott Son Antem Mallorca Spain is excellent for families and groups — but I need to be honest: it's not for everyone. The townhouses are spacious, the value is real (€693 for three nights with five of us), and the heated indoor-outdoor pool in winter is genuinely special. The decor is basic, you need a car, and facilities are scattered across the golf courses.
What sold me was the combination. The kitchen meant we weren't eating every meal out. The garden gave the kids somewhere to run. Swimming outside in a Mallorca winter — cold evenings and all — that was a moment I didn't expect. Those things matter more than fancy finishes or beachfront location.
If you're with family or a group and comfortable being inland, book it. If you're solo or want high-end decor, look elsewhere. Marriott Son Antem isn't trying to be all things — it's just honest about what it is.
