The British Airways Lounge Miami is the best BA Business Lounge I’ve been too. Hell, it’s possibly the best business lounge I’ve ever been to. From any airline! Better than the Virgin Clubhouse at London Heathrow.
The food isn’t restaurant quality, it’s fine dining. With plates of Filet Mignon. I almost regretted being vegetarian! However the veg food was great too.
The lounge design was jaw dropping stunning. It was bright, with beautiful furniture and great runway views.
The alcohol selection was excellent too. With cocktails and champagne served from a manned bar.
There was premium tea by Birchall too. Which was better than Twinings. Which BA lounges usually serve.
You can get into the lounge if you have Oneworld Status or are flying business with British Airways. This page has my Recommended Tools. With my favourite ways to save money on premium travel.
Summary:
To access the British Airways Lounge Miami, you must have a same-day boarding pass for an international flight. And also meet one of the following criteria:
If you don’t have access to the British Airways Lounge, there are other options. You can access the Turkish Airlines Lounge, with a Priority Pass Membership.
Priority Pass is the largest airport lounge network in the world. With membership, you can access over 1,700 lounges worldwide. You can signup here for a 30% discount. Membership starts at $69.
Standard Plus membership costs $263 and comes with 10 free visits. So each visit costs $26.30. Great value for unlimited food, unlimited alcohol and your own personal space.
I’m a fan of the program, but it’s not perfect. It’s a mass market program, so don’t expect freshly cooked steaks and champagne on tap!
The British Airways Lounge Miami is in Terminal E. Which is where the BA flights depart from.
Go through Security point 5 and then get the train to the lounge. The lounge is on the upper level, once you get off the train.
The whole journey takes 5 minutes, once you pass through security.
To get to the airport. You’ll probably need a car. Either a rental car or a taxi.
When I rent cars worldwide, I don’t use large rental companies. They’re expensive, take large deposits and provide a poor service. Hertz also has a habit of getting their customers arrested (video below)!
I use Local Rent for rental cars. They work with local rental companies. Their cars have low deposits ($300 average) and many have $0 deposit. The have a 4.8* rating on Trustpilot. The downside is that they only operate in one city in the USA. On the plus side, that city is Miami! Book your Miami rental car with Local Rent here.
If you don’t have fun in Miami, then you won’t have fun anywhere! With great breaches, amazing food, nightlife. There’s so much to keep you occupied. Below are some of my favourite activities.
You can book a 90 minute sightseeing cruise for $18. It’s one of the best value and most popular tours in Miami. Rated 4.5* from 1,300 reviews. Enjoy panoramic views of Miami's skyline, witness the opulence of Miami Beach mansions and see the sun-kissed shores of Miami Beach.
Take your boat up a level! Book a speedboat tour of Miami for $45. The tour lasts for 45 minutes and is rated 4.7* from over 3,000 reviews. You’ll see all the same stuff as the 90 minute cruise. But you’ll be going much faster!
Book a 30 minute private air tour of Miami for only $90. Which is great value in my view. Tour is rated 4.6*. Access spectacular aerial views of Key Biscayne, Downtown Miami, and the luxurious mansions of Palm Island.
The British Airways Lounge Miami is a rectangle shape. The lounge is 13,000 square foot and has capacity for 230 guests. Making it the largest British Airways Lounge outside London.
With runway views on both sides. The lounge was soaked in natural light on the day I was there. But it’s Miami, so what did you expect?!
There was one room where the food and soft drinks were served. The room had a self-service buffet on one end, which is where the food is served. Opposite the food buffet was a tea and coffee station. Also self-service.
There was another room, which had a manned bar. The alcohol was served from here.
I quite liked this separation as it meant we could enjoy different facets of the lounge. I had a meal in the dining area. And then retreated to the bar area later on. However, as I was with my 3 year old son, I had to drink alone!
The furniture was really nice. Different to the usual leather seats you see in lounges. Lots of bright blues and reds. A bit like an American Diner.
The food at this lounge is probably the best I’ve had in a business class lounge. There wasn’t a large array of dishes. But the food was fine dining quality.
There were two hot meat dishes, two hot veg dishes and a hot dessert.
There was also cold salad, Arabic mezze, cold cuts, cheeses and cakes.
I had the asparagus, which was spectacular. It was served with a beautiful tangy sauce. I also had the penne pasta, which was average. And the bread pudding, also spectacular.
The food was served in small plates, so I ended up going back for multiple helpings!
I tried the Arabic mezze. A bread roll with guacamole, olives and hummus. Yummy but salty!
The food was fine dining quality. Everything was freshly made. A Filet Mignon is one of the most expensive cuts of beef.
The food was a massive upgrade on every other British Airways Lounge I’ve been too! Including good lounges like the one in London Gatwick.
Opposite the buffet was a self service station with coffee, tea and soft drinks.
Coffee was served from a machine. There was a tea selection from Birchall. I had two English breakfast teas. Fantastic. Much better than Twinings!
The alcohol was served from a stunning manned bar. In a separate room. Next to the window, with marble effect worktop.
I didn’t plan on having a drink. I had just came from the American Airlines Flagship lounge. Where I had a couple of glasses of champagne.
But the bar was so beautiful, I thought it was rude for me not to get a drink!
I had a glass of champagne. Which wasn’t great. Not as good as the champagne in the Flagship American Lounge.
However, most BA Business lounges don’t offer champagne. So I appreciated the option.
The British Airways South Lounge in Heathrow Terminal 5 has good alcohol, but not as good as this lounge. My review of that lounge is here.
Wow, Just wow! This is the lounge that you wake up early for. It’s the lounge that you arrive at hungry, so you enjoy the food!
The food was fine dining, the décor was stunning and the drinks were fabulous.
If you have access to the lounge, you won’t be disappointed! It’s a great place to relax before your flight.
Club Suite is the name of British Airways best business class. My review is here. Every seat has aisle access and flattens to a bed. The food was good. And there’s a door for privacy.
