The Comedy Store in London is the most famous comedy club in the UK. It’s world renowned and I love it! The venue is great value, the food is good and the comedy always delivers.
On this occasion, I visited with my wife on a Friday night. Date night. On Fridays, they have ‘The Best In Stand Up’. A 3 hour show, with 4 comedians.
The Comedy Store is located in Central London. In between Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus. I first visited the Comedy Store when I was 17. I've been back over 20 times.
In this review, find out what to expect when you visit. But first, here’s a couple of insider tips. I recommend to arrive 1 hour early. Pick a good seat and order some food. The diner gets very busy.
Secondly, I would pay £6 extra and get a premium seat. You get to sit in the VIP section. You also get a table to put your drinks on.

I booked two VIP seats for myself and my wife. For two people, I paid £60. Two standard tickets would have been £48. I think VIP is worth the extra money.
The Comedy Store in London doesn't have allocated seating. With a premium seat, you can sit in the VIP area. We arrived early and got the best seats in the house. Right in front of the stage with a table for our drinks.
The standard seats are very cramped. You need to walk over loads of people to get to the aisle. You also need to hold your drinks or put them on the floor. A lot of drinks get kicked over!
I think The Comedy Store is great value. For £30 a person, you get 3 hours of the best stand up comedians in the country.
Because prices are reasonable, you get an interesting mix of customers. Couples of all ages on date night. The two in front of us wouldn't stop making out! You also get students and groups of friends. Including the odd drunken fool. Plus comedy lovers like myself!
At the back of the venue is a bar and kitchen.
The Comedy Store in London has a decent menu of fast food. Think pizza, fries and burgers. The kitchen is next to the bar. There’s a window to the kitchen, where you make your order.
Prices are reasonable. I paid £20 for two portions of fries and a plate of nachos. The quality was pretty good. It’s not gourmet. But the food is cooked properly. It’s not freezer food, reheated in the oven.
The fries were good. They were boiling hot when I got them. Straight out of the deep fat fryer. The portions were large too.
The kitchen gets very busy. If you want something, you should arrive at least 30 minutes before the start. The kitchen won't serve during the performance.
The kitchen does open again during the interval. However, the queue was massive. There must have been 20 people waiting to be served.
The bar is next to the kitchen. They serve the usual array of drinks you expect in a London Pub. They also sell four pint jugs of beer. I had two pints of beer. I ordered Camden Hells Lager. It cost £6.40 for a pint.
Below, I’ve uploaded the food and the drinks menus.
If you’re visiting London, I highly recommend to visit the Comedy Store. London is a global city however. There’s also loads of other amazing things to do.

Visiting London? If you need somewhere to stay, I can recommend the JW Marriott Grosvenor House. Review here. The hotel is right opposite Hyde Park. The best location in the city. The decoration is classy and stunning. I enjoyed the breakfast too. Lovely pancakes and fresh juices.
I reviewed British Airways Long Haul Business Class. Link here. I flew from London to Denver. They call their seat a Club Suite. Each seat has aisle access. The seat flattens to a fully flat bed. There’s a also a door for privacy. My flight was pretty good. The food and drinks options were excellent.
I’ve also flown British Airways Short Haul Business Class. Review here. I flew from London to Amsterdam. The seat is the same as economy, with the middle seat blocked out! That being said, I enjoyed my flight. There was a meal service and a complimentary bar. I also got lounge access with my ticket.
