Marriott Timeshare Vacation Club is the name of Marriott’s Timeshare Program. This article is a complete guide to the program.
Marriott are the big beast of timeshare programs! They own the Westin, St Regis and the Hyatt Vacation Club Programs. It means they have a large number of resorts worldwide.
Full disclosure: I’m a member of Marriott Timeshare and am very happy. As a Timeshare owner, I’ve taken trips I never could have afforded otherwise. Such as staying in apartments at the Ritz Carlton Vail and Marriott Maui Ocean Club in Hawaii. Marriott Vacation Club isn’t right for everyone. But it’s been great for me and my family.
Is Marriott Vacation Club right for you? In this article, I’ll cover the pros and the cons of the program. If you’re thinking about purchasing a Marriott Timeshare, but don’t know enough, then this article is a must read.
With Marriott Timeshare Vacation Club, you’ll pay a fee to become an owner. You’ll also pay an annual maintenance fee. For that, you’ll get an annual allocation of Destination Club points. These are different to Marriott Bonvoy Points, and way more valuable!
You can use your Destination Club (DC) Points to stay at any Marriott, Westin or Sheraton Vacation Club Resort. These are different to regular Westin or Sheraton hotels. These are special timeshare resorts. They all have proper apartments, rather than hotel rooms.
You can also use your points to book a timeshare resort on Interval International. There are over 3,000 timeshare resorts on Interval International. These resort include Hyatt Vacation Club, Disney Vacation Club and Four Seasons Residence Club.
Your DC Points also have other uses. Such as resort credit, tours and cruises. In general, I don’t recommend to book cruises or get resort credit. It’s not the best use of your points. Better to use your points to stay at resorts.
Something you may have heard of, are ‘timeshare preview packages’. These are heavily discounted stays at Marriott Vacation Club Resorts. You’ll have to attend a one hour presentation, during your trip. These deals are great value. If you want to book up package, then email me. Give me your name, email address, telephone number and the city you live in.
In this article, I provide full details about discounts you can get with preview packages. I’ll detail what I paid for the most recent preview package that I booked. Spoiler: I got a great deal!
I’m a happy owner with Marriott Vacation Club, and I’ve had some amazing benefits. The best benefit is being able to stay at amazing resorts. That I couldn’t otherwise afford. I also have lifetime Marriott Platinum Status. Which provides benefits at all Marriott Hotels, including free breakfast.
I also get to regularly buy encore packages. These are the same as preview packages, but they’re for existing owners. As existing owners, we get bigger discounts. We also receive 50,000 Bonvoy Points for booking a preview package.
In this article, I’ll provide details about my personal experiences of the program. I’ll also detail what I paid to become an owner with Marriott Timeshare. And what I pay every year in maintenance fees.
I also give information about other popular timeshare programs. Such as Hilton Grand Vacations and Disney Vacation Club.
I’ll provide my number one piece of advice, which ensures that you never get ripped off with a timeshare. To be honest, you can just scroll down now and open the relevant section to find out!
I’ll also explain why Destination Club Points can’t be devalued. This part is a little technical. It’s because the number of DC points are linked to a timeshare unit, and are written in the deed.
I’ll also address other burning questions you might have. Is timeshare a scam? Are timeshare salesmen aggressive? Is it ok to wear denim on denim? (that last one was a joke!)
