This review is for the My Lounge in Heathrow Terminal 3.
It was good. But god it was busy! I got in with my Priority Pass card. I’m glad I paid the £6 extra to reserve my place!
If you’re not a member of Priority Pass, you can signup up here for a 30% discount.
This Priority Pass Heathrow Lounge is decent. With hot food, free alcohol and runway views. I got a beautiful shot of the British Airways jet at the gate.
There’s definitely benefits of using Priority Pass to access Heathrow Lounges. A decent meal and a couple of drinks could easily cost you £50 in the airport terminal. So a Priority Pass Lounge is better value and more fun (why stop at a couple of drinks?!).
This is an in-depth review and I took loads of photos. Know exactly what to expect when you visit. Each photo can be clicked to open out the full slideshow.
This page on my website has some of the best travel deals. Such as how I booked long haul business class for £600 return.
I accessed My Lounge Terminal 3 with my Priority Pass Membership. Priority Pass is the largest airport lounge network in the world. You can access over 1,800 airport lounges worldwide.
Sign up here and get a 30% discount. Cheapest membership is £48. Standard Plus is £183 and comes with 10 free lounge visits. So each visit costs £18.30. Which is pretty great for unlimited alcohol, unlimited food and your own personal space.
The biggest weakness of the program is that it’s popular and the lounges get busy (like today at My Lounge!). If that’s the case, then you might be refused entry. However, you can prebook a timeslot with Priority Pass for £6. This will guarantee entry to the lounge.
There are two Priority Pass Lounges in Heathrow Terminal 3. The other one is the No1 Lounge. My review of that lounge is here. I think that lounge is a little better than this one. The décor was luxurious, and they have marble effect worktops.
This Priority Pass Heathrow Lounge is located in Heathrow Terminal 3. The lounges are all clustered together, 5 minutes after security.
For me, Heathrow Terminal 3 is easily the best terminal in the UK for airport lounges. This terminal has the only American Express lounge in the UK. My review is here. The food was soooo good! They have professionally made cocktails too.
Heathrow Terminal 3 doesn’t have a Plaza Premium Lounge. Every other Heathrow terminal does.
Here’s a super quick guide for how to get to Heathrow Airport.
The cheapest way to the airport is by coach. Book a National Express coach here – fares start at £5. They often have offers for free kids seats. Coaches have complimentary wi-fi, luxury seats and toilets.
The cheapest train is the Piccadilly line, which costs £6.50 from Central London. It’s also slow. The journey from Central London to the airport is about 1.5 hours.
The Heathrow Express is the fastest way to the airport. Trains from Central London take 15 minutes. It’s great value if you pre book your tickets. Buy your tickets here – starting at £10. Kids under 16 travel free. If you buy your ticket at the station, the ticket costs £25. You have been warned!
If you need an airport taxi, I would use Welcome Picks. They have a 4.9* rating on Trustpilot. They’re well priced and reliable. I don’t use Uber – they have a 1.5* rating on Trustpilot. Black taxis cost £150 from Central London to the airport. Book your taxi here – or from the tool below.
London is a great place to visit but you probably already knew that! You might be worried about the expense. But the great news is that there’s something for every budget.
The British Museum houses some of the greatest artefacts in the world (photo above). Entrance is free – no need to pre book. Exhibits include The Lewis Chessmen, Egyptian Mummies and the Parthenon Sculptures.
One bucket list experience is to take a hot air balloon ride. Virgin Balloons are the largest operator in the UK – book here and get a 22% discount. Rides start at £139 and include a glass of bubbly. They have a 4.6* rating on Trustpilot.
It's not the cheapest trip you’ll take, but it is something special. It’s definitely worth £139.
This Priority Pass Heathrow Lounge is basically a small rectangle room. With a self serve buffet and manned bar at one end. It’s 300 metres squared and has capacity for 112 guests.
The lounge is open from 5am to 10pm daily.
There were windows with runway views on one side of the lounge. As it was a March morning, this enabled lots of natural light to come in. I had a lovely view of a British Airways jet, as it came to dock at the gate. That view was worth the entry price alone!
The decor certainly wasn’t luxury. Very functional. Although nothing was tatty or dirty.
There were booths with tables and chairs. There were also individual seats, looking out to the runway. These were the best seats in the house, as they also have power sockets next to them.
As I mentioned earlier. The lounge was busy. Nearly all seats were taken. You had to walk over people’s luggage to get anywhere. It certainly wasn’t an oasis of calm! You had to queue to get a cup of tea.
But was it better than the airport terminal? Oh hell yeah!
There was a self service buffet with hot food. I was at the lounge during the lunch service.
The following food was on offer.
To be honest, the food looked like it came from the freezer and was heated in an oven! That being said, all the food looked perfectly edible.
The potatoes were covered in breadcrumbs and were clearly taken from the freezer.
The veg curry looked very brown, without having many vegetables in it.
I wasn’t hungry as I had eaten well in the Virgin Clubhouse already. However, if I was hungry, I would have partaken in the food.
Food at Priority Pass Lounges is all about expectations. If you’re expecting a gourmet meal, like pan seared fish, then you’re going to be disappointed.
But if you’re happy with half decent hot food that will fill you up, then you’ll be pleased.
Besides, the food options will be better than the Pret A Manger in the terminal outside!
Alcohol was served from the bar at the front of the lounge. Everything apart from Prosecco was complimentary.
I wasn’t able to get a super close shot of the bar, because someone was always attending the bar. But I did look at the options. There was beer on tap and some bottled beers. There was a selection of wines and a selection of premium spirits (including Captain Morgan rum and Smirnoff vodka).
Normally, I do a sense check of the number of people drinking alcohol. I like to find out who’s getting blasted at 10am in the morning! I wasn’t able to do that on this occasion, as the lounge was so busy. And it was difficult for me to move around.
That being said, I saw a few people go up to the bar and grab some drinks. Priority Pass Lounge visitors normally drink more alcohol than business class lounges. Maybe visitors need to make sure they get their money’s worth!
Coffee was served from a machine. I didn’t have one. Machine coffee is normally crap. And I don’t usually drink coffee.
There was a selection of teas from Twinings. I swear, 85% of lounges worldwide use Twinings tea. They must have a contract as official global tea provider!
I had an English breakfast tea with milk. It was really good. The milk was from the machine. And I think it was organic.
As I said earlier, it’s about expectations!
If you visit this Priority Pass Heathrow Lounge, you’ll get fed with a hot meal. You also have unlimited alcohol, runway views and power sockets. What’s not to like?!
The lounge was busy and the food looked like it had been re-heated in the oven.
For me, this lounge has everything I need from a Priority Pass Lounge. It’s way better than sitting in the terminal. So don’t be snooty when you visit! Be grateful. I enjoyed my stay here before my flight.
Heathrow Terminal 5 is the home of British Airways. Even if you’re not flying in business class, you can still visit a lounge. There are two Priority Pass Lounges. My review of the Plaza Premium Lounge is here. They have a lovely hot buffet, views of the tarmac and unlimited alcohol. My review of the Club Aspire is here. I like that lounge too – just know that there is no toilet in the lounge!
I knew this before I arrived, so I used the facilities in the airport terminal.
My Youtube review of the Club Aspire Lounge is below. Apologies for the low-tech quality, I did the review before I did my Youtube training! And I can’t delete the video, as it gets loads of views!
