Orlando Airport Club MCO Lounge – Better than a smack?!

This review is for The Club MCO in Orlando Terminal A. A 3rd party lounge in Orlando Airport.

It’s a small lounge, with a good food selection. There was also complimentary alcohol, tea, coffee and soft drinks.

I got access with my Priority Pass Membership. I was really pleased to have lounge access. Starbucks and Burger King had the longest queues in the terminal building! They also charge more at the airport.

In this article, I explain how to get a Priority Pass membership with a 30% discount. There's also a video introduction to Priority Pass below. From my Youtube Channel.

In the title, I cheekily asked if the lounge is better than a smack. It’s a difficult question to answer. After all, some people pay good money for a smack! However, I did like the lounge. I enjoyed my stay!

This page on my website has my favourite travel deals and travel tools. To travel more and travel better.

What I Liked

  • Tasty and hot buffet
  • Complimentary alcohol
  • Nice staff
  • Natural light
  • Runway views – view the above shot of Spirit Airlines
  • They accept Priority Pass Cards

What Could Be Improved

  • Small lounge
  • The Club MCO was busy

The Entry Requirements

I got access with my Priority Pass membership. Sign up here and get a 30% discount. This is a special offer, from Priority Pass to my readers. I know how many people have access to this offer, and it’s not many.

Membership starts at $69 per year. Standard Plus membership costs $263 and comes with 10 free lounge visits per year. So each visit costs $26.30. Great value for unlimited food, unlimited alcohol and fast wi-fi.

Priority Pass is the largest Lounge Network in the world. If you travel through airports more than a couple of times of a year. Then membership is definitely worth it. Last time I went to Burger King at an airport, a double whopper meal cost $18!

You can pay $7 to Priority Pass to guarantee access at a certain timeslot. So even if the lounge is at capacity, they’ll let you in. I always recommend to pre-book a timeslot.

If you go through Orlando Terminal C, there’s a different Priority Pass Option. You have the Plaza Premium Lounge. My review of that lounge is here. It’s one of the best lounges in the USA!

The Plaza Premium is great value if you use a Priority Pass Card. The charge $75 if you pay for entry at the door. So Priority Pass is definitely better value.

My Favourite Activities in Orlando

Orlando is all about the Theme Parks. Yes they’re expensive. But you can still enjoy Orlando without breaking your wallet!

Disney Springs is free and allows you to sample the Disney Experience. It’s not only shopping, but there’s loads of activities for you to do.

The Wizard of Oz Museum is rated at 5* from 945 reviews. Book tickets here for only $30. It comes with free cancellation.

The Museum of illusions is rated 4.8* from 470 reviews. Book here for $30. Also with free cancellation.

The Location

The Club MCO is a lounge in Terminal A of Orlando Airport.

The lounge is accessible for passengers departing from Terminal A (Gates 1-29) and from Terminal B (Gates 30-59).

You take the monorail from the central terminal area. The journey only takes 2 minutes. The wait for the train was only 2 minutes.

The moment you get out of the Monorail, you’ll see the lounge.

The Lounge

The Club at MCO is a small rectangular room with a buffet at one end. There are some windows to the outside, so natural light comes in.

I got a nice shot of a Spirit Airlines plane outside the lounge. Check the slideshow to view the photo.

The lounge had a manned bar that serves alcohol. There was also a small kids play area with a games console. The console was broken! There was nothing else to do in the kids play area!

In terms of seating. It was mainly low style lounge seating with low tables. There was also some restaurant style tables and chairs.

The Club at MCO is pretty small, as such it was pretty busy.

The cleaners were very kind. They helped me to find a free seat. They also went to the back and got some gummy bears for my son. My son didn’t want them – but I did! The gummy bears were soooo good!

The Food

The Club MCO had pretty good food.

I was there at 9am, during the breakfast service. All the food was served from the buffet. With the following options:

  • Bagels
  • Fruit bowl
  • Pancakes
  • Muffins
  • Oatmeal
  • Boiled eggs
  • Granola
  • Cheerios
  • Sausages
  • Potatoes

Not a bad spread for a small lounge.

I had a bagel, pancakes and oatmeal. The oatmeal was bad. But all the rest was good! The food was solid and filling. No complaints from me.

The Drinks

The Club at MCO had good drinks options!

Alcohol was offered from a manned bar. I didn’t partake as it was 10am. I also get a headache when I drink on flights.

The drinks were complimentary. There were a variety of beers, wines and spirits. Nothing was chargeable. Which is unusual for lounges in the US. Probably for that reason, loads of people were drinking! I won’t judge!

Tea and coffee was served from a machine. I had an English breakfast tea. It was Bigelow branded. It wasn’t great. Bigelow isn’t the best.

My wife had a coffee. She wasn’t a fan. Machine coffee is rarely good. So this wasn’t a surprise!

My Take on The Club MCO

If you need a lounge in Orlando Airport, then The Club MCO is a great option.

Would I wake up at 3am to get here early. No, don’t do that! But I still really liked it!

It’s small but hits all the right notes. Hot and tasty food. Complimentary alcohol. Fast wi-fi. Runway views.
