The Air Canada Lounge is located in Heathrow Terminal 2. It’s a solid business class lounge with a hot buffet, complimentary bar and runway views. They also have a small number of private sleep pods.
The décor was sleek and modern. With lots of grey leather and dark wood tones. They also had a really cool model airplane. Air Canada of course!
The lounge right next to the Singapore Airlines Lounge in Satellite Terminal 2B. It’s a 15 minute walk from the Main terminal, to the satellite terminal. You need to take the underground walkway to get here.
Heathrow Terminal 2 is home to Star Alliance. And there are four lounges you can use. Air Canada, Lufthansa, United Airlines and Singapore Airlines. You’re spoilt for choice!
Air Canada Business lounges have a good reputation. I was excited to find out if the reputation was deserved. I’m happy to report. I liked this lounge!
I made sure to take loads of photos. Each photo can be clicked, to open out the full slideshow. My article is a detailed guide. Know exactly what to expect when you visit.
I started my blog as I love writing. And I wanted to share my experiences, as I travel the world. I LOVE waking up at 3am, to travel to some far flung destination. My family are less enthusiastic about my passions! You can signup to my email list here, and get notified of my latest content and the best travel deals.
If you don’t signup, then I’m just some weirdo taking photos of airport food!
Actually, if you do signup, then I’m still some weirdo taking photos of airport food!
You can get in if you hold Gold Status with a Star Alliance Airline. Or if you are flying in Business (or First) with a Star Alliance Airline.
If you have access to the Air Canada Lounge, then you also have access to the other Star Alliance Lounges.
Heathrow Terminal 2 is called the Queens Terminal. It’s the Star Alliance hub in London Heathrow. There are four Star Alliance Lounges in the Terminal. Air Canada, Lufthansa, United Airlines and Singapore Airlines.
The Lufthansa Lounge is probably the biggest lounge in the terminal. My review is here. I definitely liked that lounge. They had both Prosecco and German wheat beer! But the lounge was super busy.
If you don’t have access to Star Alliance Lounges, there is another option in Heathrow Terminal 2. The Plaza Premium is in Terminal 2. It’s been voted as the best independent lounge in the world. My review is here. I’ve been to that lounge multiple times, and I really like it. That article has a beautiful photo of the bar.
You can pay for entry to the Plaza Premium Lounge. If you use this link, you get 10% off.
You can gain entry with a Priority Pass Membership. Signup with my exclusive link and get 30% off. Priority Pass have a range of membership options, starting at £48. Prestige Membership costs £377 and provides unlimited access to airport lounges.
Priority Pass have over 1,600 airport lounges worldwide. One of my favourite is the Virgin Clubhouse in New York, JFK. They have restaurant quality food and bottomless champagne. Review here. Everyone that clicks on the link gets a prize. You get to read a great article!
Priority Pass Airport lounges have been a massive upgrade on my airport experience! Hot food, unlimited alcohol and private space is pretty great. I hate sitting in the Terminal building. The fact that my Priority Pass also saves me money is crazy. I’m never going back!
The lounge is in Satellite Terminal B, of Heathrow Terminal 2. To get here, you have to take a 15 minute walk from the main terminal building, via the underground walkway. It’s a bit of a pain.
There are four Star Alliance Lounges in Heathrow Terminal 2. Only one of the lounges is in the main Terminal Building. That’s the Lufthansa lounge.
The Air Canada, Singapore Airlines and United Airlines Lounges are all in the Satellite Terminal B. The long haul flights tend to leave from Satellite Terminal B. So it’s convenient if you're flying to a far away destination.
The Air Canada Lounge is right next to the Singapore Airlines Lounge. My review of that lounge is here. The Singapore Lounge has lots of alcohol, high quality food and runway views.
Is the Singapore Lounge better than the Air Canada Lounge. I don’t know. The Singapore Lounge has better food but inferior decoration. You might as well try them both and decide for yourself!
There’s a number of ways to get to Heathrow Terminal 2 from Central London. One of the best options is to use the Heathrow Express. The train takes 15 minutes from Central London. Kids under 15 go free, when they’re with an adult. You can buy tickets in advance from this page. Tickets start at £10.
The Air Canada Lounge is a mid sized and rectangle shaped. When I was there, the Lounge was virtually empty.
This is paradise for a travel blogger like me! I got to take some beautiful clear shots. Lounges can be quite difficult to get good photos of. Often, I’m not in the lounge for long. And they can be very busy.
The Air Canada Business Lounge has the following facilities
The Lounge is mid sized and rectangle shaped. With floor to ceiling runway views on one side. The seating is nearly all low style lounge seats.
The lounge has a business centre. There was a large table in the business centre. Best of all, the business centre has a model Air Canada plane. I loved the plane! But I am an aviation geek!
There is a small buffet and bar at one end of the lounge.
At the other end of the lounge are some sleep pods. The sleep pods are private and have curtains that close. This is a cool feature. I imagine that these pods quickly fill up when the lounge is full.
The lounge has large floor to ceiling windows and runway views. It was raining pretty hard on the day I came. So the views weren’t the best. Below is a shot of an Air Canada Aircraft, as it came in.
If you’re flying Air Canada for Business, this lounge is a pretty good option. The Air Canada jets parked really close to the lounge.
The Air Canada lounge has modern décor. I really liked it. The decoration was modern and sleek. With lots of grey leather furniture pieces and dark wood tones.
The Air Canada Lounge has a full hot buffet. Although my meal was a little bland.
There was a small buffet counter at the entrance of the lounge. The following dishes were on offer
There wasn’t a lot of variety. As a vegetarian, my only option for the main meal was penne pasta. I had a tiny plate of pasta and olives. I wasn’t too hungry. The pasta was bland. I can cook better at home!
While I didn’t love the food, I appreciate that you could get a full meal. In the Air Canda Lounge. You could get soup, salad and a main dish. This is REALLY IMPORTANT to me. Airport Terminal food is super expensive. Airline food is super crap. So getting a full meal in the lounge is a godsend!
Many lounges only offer snacks. The Hawaiian Airlines Lounge in Maui offered a box of potato chips and nothing else! My review is here.
The drinks at the Air Canada Heathrow Lounge were good. Better than most lounges.
There was a Twinings tea selection and a coffee machine next to the buffet.
There was also a manned bar with draught beer, wine and spirits. They offered Guinness on draught too. I do like Guiness and was tempted. But I’m not a big drinker, so I declined. I had plans to drink champagne on the flight later.
This actually turned out to be a big mistake! I took a short haul business class flight with Lufthansa. They had a small variety of drinks. I ended up having a bottle of Becks beer. Which is a fairly generic and tasteless lager.
In the lounge, I drank some filtered water and a Twinings chamomile tea. The tea went down really well, so I had another one!
The water was a great idea. I always get dehydrated on flights. But it’s not convenient to drink lots of water and use the (disgusting) toilets!
I loved the decoration of the Air Canada Business Lounge. Sleek and modern. Which is exactly what I like. The lounge has floor to ceiling windows, runway views, sleep pods, a hot buffet and lots of alcohol. There’s a lot to like in the lounge.
I should point out that my food wasn’t great. My pasta was flavourless. Although the Coq au vin looked better.
Overall, the Air Canada Business Lounge is really good. It was virtually empty when I was there. I would happily spend a couple of hours here, before my flight.
I visited the stunning Waikoloa Ocean Club in Big Island Hawaii. Review here. The resort is right on the beach. I had a fab 1 bed apartment with sea view. In the article, I explain how to book the resort for a 70% discount.
